Privacy Policy
This policy is a placeholder. The final version will comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (APPs 1–13) and give you concrete details of what we collect and how to ask us to delete it.
What we collect
- Your email address (for order confirmation and book delivery).
- Your child's first name, age, and gender (to personalise the book).
- Your child's companion name & relationship (if provided).
- Your suburb / neighbourhood (to choose the trail).
- Your shipping address (hardcover orders only).
- Anonymised analytics (page views, no cookies, no personal data — via Plausible).
What we do with it
We use this information exclusively to produce and deliver your book. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
We use the following third-party services to run Wardkeep: AWS (hosting, email, storage), Lulu (print fulfilment), Stripe (payment processing), Amazon Bedrock (story generation), Replicate (illustration generation), OpenStreetMap (location lookup via Photon/Nominatim), Plausible Analytics (traffic analytics). Each processes the minimum data required for its role.
How long we keep it
We retain your quest record (the details of the book you ordered) indefinitely, so we can reprint or refund if needed. You can request deletion at any time — see below.
Children's data
You (the purchasing parent or guardian) provide your child's details. We treat this information as sensitive: it is stored encrypted at rest, accessible only to Wardkeep operators, and never shared beyond the service partners listed above.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing support@wardkeep.barkingiguana.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you have concerns about how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
